Where to plant in my garden?

 

Grow in a wildflower meadow or in a container and harvest the foliage regularly for young salad leaves.

 

Flowers: May-August

Habitat: Downland meadows, roadside banks and quarries

Height: 30-50cm

Growth Type: Perennial

Position: Full sun

Soil Preference: Wide range, preferring calcareous/ well drained

    A caterpillar food plant of the Annulet Moth.

     

    Advised to plant in informal groups to encourage recognition and attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.

     

    NB Until recently this species was know by the old botanical name of Sanguisorba minor.
