Where to plant in my garden?

 

Attractive in a sunny border or a mini meadow.

Note that it is best grown in poor soils, if the soil is too rich it becomes leafy, with few flowers. 

Although its natural habitat is damp sites, it does well as a garden plant. 

 

Flowers: August-September

Habitat: Meadows, damp pasture, marshes and fens.

Height:15-50cm

Growth Type: Perennial

Position: Full sun to semi shade

Soil Preference: Wide range

    It is the food plant of the endangered Marsh Fritillary Butterfly and the Narrow Borded Bee Hawk Moth.

     

    Advised to plant in informal groups to encourage recognition and attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
